Financial advice for your 26 year old self

Hey. I’ll be turning 26 soon. Any financial advice for the sweet ripe age of 26? What would you tell your 26 year old self?

    Have a budget and stick to it.
    There is no shame in saying no to going out to save money.

    If I was 26 now I'd be starting a LISA. As it was I had to wait for them to be invented.

    If I was 26, I'd look at saving, investing in S&S ISA, saving & current accounts & just being more money savvy.

    What is your situation? Job, salary? Long term goals?

    Earning more money doesn't mean you can spend more... it means you can invest and buy your freedom.

    The state pension age is just that. Just because most people plan to use it as a guide to retirement age doesn't mean you should.
  • If you earn £100 a day every £100 you spend unnecessarily, or pay to someone else in interest, is another day you have to work.

    Try to put a little bit of money into the stockmarket each year.

    I left it far too late.
    Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:
