I previously posted about lots of incorrect accounts etc on my reports.One of the agencies has now removed all accounts/addresses where the date of birth didn’t match mine. Except one...
There is an account with my name/date of birth but a different address. It’s defjnitely not mine. Equifax are just saying Talk Talk says it’s your debt, contact them.
I am not sure how to proceed with Talk Talk. From their perspective, maybe someone did have an account with my name and date of birth. Or it could be ID theft. Apparently they don’t ask to see any ID, they just take the persons DOB.
Feel like I am stuck in a never ending loop, with a defaulted account screwing up my report, even though I’ve had nothing to do with Talk Talk ever.
Any advice?

I would ask to speak to a supervisor and explain the dilemma you find yourself in.0 -

Yeah I’ve tried. I seem to get stuck at the bit when they need me to confirm my address or account number. I don’t have the account number, and they won’t have my address. Then I get passed round endless departments before getting cut off mistakenly. It’s like no-one knows how to deal with this situation.0 -

Thanks Becky, messaged the Talk Talk team now. Unfortunately everything seems to take such a long time between responses but will see how it goes. I have already filed a fraud report. Just frustrating how the conversation between the credit reference agency and yourselves doesn’t resolve it. You should have to prove it is my debt before being able to put in on my report.0
