I never said I did not owe the money.

    Long story, cut short.

I moved in 13/12/2010. My social housing landlord told me that I was with NPower and that I had to contact them to sort out gas and electricity.

At this time I was very ill, having daily seizures. I contacted NPower, to them have a 30 minute discussion that I had prepay meters, when I did not. Eventually, they decided there was an issue and they would solve it. They would not setup an account, due to the issue with the meters.

I kept ringing asking to make some form of payments, but they would not let me
, as they had not sorted out the meter issues.

This went of for 11 months, before they wrote to me to tell me that it was now sorted and please pay this bill.

Living from hand to mouth, I had tried to put money away, but temptation got the better of me and I kept dipping.

So not saying I did not owe the money, but 11 months to sort out an issue is a mess up. Please tell me otherwise.

So you knew that you were using energy and you knew that you would eventually have to pay for it, even if you had paid monthly it would have still been the same amount.

It seems the mess up was you not being able to set the money aside each month to be ready for the eventual bill.

I'll agree they made a mistake but not taking payment for 11 months isn't exactly a big issue and I would much rather have money sitting in my bank than being owed money by them.

I agree and I was wrong to dip and I contributed to the mess up. The previous tenant passed on at the begininng of the October, and had been a tenant for around 13 years. I moved in 10 weeks later. There was no change of meter in this period, as my dear next door neighbour never misses a thing.

The previous tenant was also with NPower, confirmed by my neighbour as she used to help her out. So between beginning of October and 13 December, their database screwed. That was the beginning of the mess up, then taking 11 months to solve the issue, made it messier. Me dipping, ensured the mess up was complete. However, as it was difficult for me (at the time) for me to read the meters, I had no idea if the money I was trying to put by was enough - mainly the gas meter, as I was struggling to get onto the floor to read the meter. At my last property, I had my meters read quarterly, due to my then current health.

This they knew about and told me I could not go onto the priority register, as there was no account set up for me. No one was innocent, however, I still say that they were the major contributors.

    Edit

Plus I was on their standard tariff whilst this was going on, so well overcharged on what I could have been paying.

Aside of the above. If you arent in a position to pay off the £750 (plus now any court fees? How will you pay a solicitor?

Genuine question. Sounds like that money would be better spent serving the debt

I spoke to the debt collection team. Had spoken with them throughout this whole façade.

They tell me they sent a letter out on 12th February, which I categorically did NOT receive. The court was on 5th March. The company said they did not send out any further information. Isupply have instructed the debt collection organisation to direct any enquiry I have straight to them.

So they forced entry 6 days after court. No letter sent out after court.

All this time, all I simply want is to repay the debt via third party deductions.

The standing order covered current usage, and no payments have been missed since this was set up at all. Isupply did say during the first phonecall with CAB today that one had been missed, then admitted this hadn't happened.
Simple ask for proof of postage and receipt. If they say they posted on date A and you should have received it on or about date B simple tell them that is not proof and they did not send any letter.
Someone please tell me what money is

I dont think legal aid covers people who haven't paid their bills. Does it?
