You complain to the seller not the lender... Halifax did not sell you insurance as such they cannot consider a mis-sale complaint.0

In December 2002 I bought a tv and other equipment from Dixons the electronic retailer. Using a monthly payment plan as this was in John the salesman words the best way to buy as it extended the manufacturers guarantee with a cover plan. John then asked basic questions like address phone number and mothers maiden name typing all this in to his computer when he finished he printed it all off and I signed at the bottom
I don't think "john" mis-sold you anything: you actually used their Coverplan!
But your "complaint", if you decide to send it, should go to Dixons..0 -
So you had a Cover Plan [which you used] and PPI on the credit agreement?
\These are two different things. One is like extended insurance to cover breakdowns etc, one might have been added to the credit agreement.
Both were sold by Dixons, so you complain to Dixons.
Be aware, it was prior to regulation so they can dismiss your complaint.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi I am in exactly the same position, also December 2012, with my loan I also took out an Aura Card also with PPI the company was Halifax Cetelem which I’d nothing to do with Halifax. Has anybody else had any luck with finding out who to write to? It’s not Dixon’s either!0

Seems they added PPI to any and all finance without telling the customer.0 -

A claims company myth I'm afraid. PPI would be on the loan paperwork the customer signed up to. It's certainly possible they could have done pressure sales but logically if PPI was added without the customer knowing, the loan total would not match the amount agreed and the customer would immediately notice.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I recently contacted the Financial Ombudsman regarding Halifax Cetelem and who to contact and they suggested contacting ''Cardif Pinnacle'' which I have and they are currently investigating my PPI complaint. Here are their contact details:

Tel: 0344 801 2177
Hope this helps :-)0 -

Cardiff Pinnacle are the provider, unless they had a staff member who sold it to you, they have no liability for the sale. FOS front line staff like to be helpful but aren't necessarily the best judges of these things. CF will almost certainly reject it if they didn't sell you it.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
