Sending money to a Spanish bank account

I was wondering what are the options for sending money from the uk to a spanish bank account. I need to transfer about £1500 per year for propertymaintenance. Usually I just pay money into the account when I'm there but I cant always get out and need to top up the Spanish account.

My bank will do an international transfer at a poorer exchange rate and charges a fee as well.

I'm l,ooking for ther cheapest way of doing it

Thanks

Ask your UK bank about issuing a Euro cheque that you can post to your Spanish bank. I have done this to France and was charged £10.

Using a UK high street bank for foreign exchange is almost always a ripoff.

This can be easily beaten by using a money transfer firm. The fee will be much lower than £10 and the exchange rate will be better than the high street banks.

The page on the main MSE site is a good start:

Transferwise and Currencyfair are two brokers that are frequently recommended. I use the latter for Euro transfers, which cost a flat fee of £2.50 and the exchange rate is always far better than high street banks.
If you need to do a payment soon I have an introducer's code to share which will give us both €30 credit.
