Date Mistake in a Small Claims Defence

I have just gone back to a defence I submitted and noticed that one of my dates in the time line is saying 2018 not 2019 which puts it out of sync. Is there anyway to change this? Does it really matter? It is quite obviously out of order.

Generally in small claims a judge will allow for a minor yet obvious error. There's nothing to stop you writing to the judge to advise that you've spotted a typo in your submitted defence and ask him to take this into account. (You'd probably also need to Cc this to the claimant).0

Thanks for that. I did manage to get hold of someone on the help desk that was throughly unhelpful this morning. They advised I would have to pay £100 to have it changed and it would have to go before a judge etc. I think I will wait for it to go to local level and then do as you say. It is a genuine mistake as we were talking about dates before and after the new year. I also don’t think it has a massive bearing on the case.0

The £100 will be for leave to file a new defence. As said, once you've been allocated a hearing and judge then write to the judge accordingly.0
