Where to put 80k

I'm after advice where to put some of our savings. At the moment we have 60k in a cash isa paying a paltry 1.2%. We have bank accounts paying 5% which are topped up. Also have 20k in premium bonds which so far have seen no return. I'm not in the high tax bracket and we have no mortgage or debts. Lastly we're not big risk takers but feel we must be able to do a lot better than 1.2%. Any help muchly appreciated.

Probably best to look down the threads on this forum as someone asks a similar question almost every day, that they have a sum of money they do not really know what to do with .If you read the replies you will get a flavour of what is normally recommended. You might consider making a start in investing - perhaps split your isa between cash and stocks and shares?
