Euro Car Parks

in Parking tickets, fines & parking
I parked on a euro car parks site and attempted to pay £3.20 for 3 hrs parking. The machine would only accept £2 and I (wrongly) assumed it was a concession (this was xmas eve). So, I duly got the £100 'fine' letter saying I had overstayed by 38 mins. However, I calculated the parking fees as approximately 2p per minute and my £2 actually covered the time I was there - with a excess of 4p!
I have written to them rejecting their 'fine' advising firstly that if they wish to enter into this contract, they must ensure that their machines are fit for purpose. Clearly, they are not. Secondly, I advised that they owe me 4p.
So, I have just received a reply just advising me to pay-up! They do not seem to understand what I have advised?
Anyone have any comments or advice as to what I should do now?

    Did you identify the driver to them (as you have in your above post)?
    They do not seem to understand what I have advised?
    They never will. This is a totally unregulated operation.

    Have they provided you with a POPLA Code?
