MBNA payment due date

First time posting but have followed the boards for a while.
Last month I got an MBNA credit card in order to use the MT option and pay off a loan with Halifax. I only wanted it in order to utilise the 0% offer on the card to save me paying interest on the loan.
Had my first statement from MBNA and payment is due 04.04.19. According to my statement the DD will come out on this day too - is this cutting it too fine, would there be any chance of a late payment if I'm paying by DD?
Should I ask them to change the date they take the DD? Or is this standard practice and nothing to worry about? I don't want to risk a late payment and lose my 0% promotion before I've even used it.
Thanks, C

Did you set up the DD at the same time you applied for the card?0

A DD will never be paid late, as long as the statement says it will be collected and isn't over 13 months dormant.
You also can't get them to change the date without moving your statement date.0 -
Yes, filled in all the info at the time of applying for the card.0

I thought that was the case, but I wasn't 100% sure. I'll relax and leave the DD as is then.

They wouldn't setup the DD if it were knowingly going to "miss" the due date.
I have DD's taken for cards on their due dates and have no issues0 -

Some credit card companies only submit the DD on the due date and the money comes out of your account a week later. Once you have a DD then any missed payments can be blamed on the bank.
You can come unstuck if the DD fails because you don't have enough funds to cover it, they don't seem to retry them later in the day anymore. However they don't seem to know why the DD failed, so you can feign ignorance.0 -
As this is a new account, make sure the DD is already in place and ready.
Sometimes, they dont have enough time to get it set up so you will have to pay the first month, manually.
It's best to check as it can be problematic if you miss your first payment due to the direct debit not being set up and you will end up loosing any promotional offers.
Remember its the customers responsibility to ensure a direct debit is in place.0 -

I set up the DD when I applied for the card and my statement says the DD will be taken on the 4th which is also the payment due date. I have made the minimum payment of £25 just to be safe for this month, but I am sure it will be fine with the DD.
Thanks to all the people who answered, this is a very welcoming and helpful forum :T0 -
Be aware the DD will be taken as stated.0
