Experience of claiming through Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd for damp treatment?

The company who did our damp proofing on our house has gone bust. The buyers of our house did a Home Buyers Report which found a 'high level of damp' in our walls. The damp treatment was covered by the Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd, so we made a claim, paid £150 for a survey for them to assess whether it's covered by the insurance. I don't expect it is, but part of the process..
We submitted the claim over a week ago and when I call them up they say it's in a queue to be assessed whether we have correctly submit the right documents, it might be this week. That's not even to allocate a surveyor. They won't give me a timeline.
I can't find out any experiences online about GPI and wondered if anyone did here? We can't afford a significant delay to our house buying process, so wondering whether we just say it won't be covered to our buyers.
