    We are not saying that the cash is counterfeit - banks have pens and note counters that can find those - we are saying paying in cash *by a 3rd party) is risky because you don't know where it has come from.
    If the money is given to you and then you pay it in its then down to you to explain where it came from. If the bank does not believe you or thinks it is dodgy then the account will be frozen.
