Demolishing a Garage

Hi peeps just after peoples opinions. I am looking at a bungalow with a detached garage but no off road parking (the garage door is on the pavement)
The front garden goes onto a public walk way and the access at the back to the garage is down a narrow street as everyone's garage is at the back So my question is if i demolished the garage i could create off road parking for 2 x cars and still have room for a large shed that would back on to the walk way what would you opinion on the impact to the value of the bungalow? There is enough space down the side of the house for a car but currently the access is blocked by the garage. the house on the corner doesnt have a garage and as you go up the street the back gardens get smaller so this could be the reason no one else has done this thoughts would be appreciated. Many Thanks

Hey. Hard to predict but personally I would prefer large off street parking at the front of the property. By building a shed you are also keeping the benefit of some storage too. I think it's a good idea personally. Garages are rarely used for vehicles nowadays anyway. The value would probably remain largely unchanged in my opinion but it would be worth asking local estate agents for their opinion if the value worries you.

If the garage is at the front and you want to knock it down and put a shed at the back, why not demolish the garage and rebuild it at the back instead of constructing a shed?

Property would still have a garage but also - and possibly importantly - have a garage and parking for 2 vehicles.

Hi access is at the back of the house so the garage is in the back garden of the bungalow but to park on the front would mean i need to drive down the side of the property and the garage is in the way for access
    thanks
