Insurance for small social community group

Morning all
I have recently started to help at a small social group run by volunteers and want to sort out the best insurance.
We meet once a month at a church hall which we pay for, about 2 hours. We also have occasional coach trips etc in the summer.
About 35 people come along and we charge entrance, but just enough for a speaker, hall rent and refreshments. So £3 each. Trips out are charged individually. There is a small committee who organise things.
Before I go round the various companies I need to know enough to ask the right questions. What should be included?
Thanks
DS

What is it you want to insure against?0

I thought there might be a standard in existence for similar groups including (or not) things like public liability, in case someone hurts themselves on a trip; or one of the committee runs off with the proceeds; or someone leaves the tap running in the hall loo during a meeting and floods it and so on. There may be more that I haven't thought of.
I know my parish council has insurance for its events/meetings/fraud etc though that's a statutory body not a voluntary group so probably not comparable.

Possibly... it might be best to make a list of everything you want to be covered for and go and see a broker.0

Check with the Church hall what their insurance covers
Check with the Coach operator what their insurance covers
you may need no more than that0 -

You may need to think about Public Liability and Employers Liability. Employers Liability may be required if you have volunteers.
There are various fairly inexpensive policies available for community / not for profit groups.

Yes, however the users of the church hall may be covered by the hall's insurance while using it (hirers liability cover)
The Church policy would normally protect the church's liabilities as owner. Unlikely that it would extend to the liability of the organisation hiring the hall.
