Saab 93 Vector 1.9 TTID 2011 Convertable DPF problem

Hi, hoping somebody can give me some advice on the problems i'm having with my car. We bought our Saab 93 1.9 TTiD 2011 last feb and noticed the oil level was rising and smoke from the exhaust,so we returned it to the dealer where he dropped the oil and refilled. Over the next few months the car kept going into limp mode.Had a forced regen done and this seemed to solve the problem for a while. Again noticed oil level was rising again so once again had the filter changed and oil dropped and refilled. I also removed the EGR valve cleaned and replaced it. A couple of months later Oil level high again showing itself with smelly smoke from the exhaust.Once again had oil changed. November last year i had the DPF removed and cleaned and brand new glow plugs fitted. A month later the msg Diesel Particulate Filter full see owners manual flashed up on my dash. By this point i was at the end of my tether so decided to have Brand New DPF fitted three weeks ago. I get in the car this morning and the same message flashed up again DPF Full, how could it be full after just three weeks.???
Car seems to be running ok with lots of power.
Need to add that i had the car remapped around july/aug time.
I would be grateful of any advice anyone can give me as my wallet can't take any more of this.

It seems like you have bought the wrong car for your use ie: dpf's are not really designed for lots of short journeys

or you may have a bad map on the car, it needs a proper diagnosis to get to the bottom of it
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

Sorry, but where does it state he is only doing short journeys?

It doesn't, but from the problems described this would be my thoughts too.

DPF not having time to regenerate and fuel then mixing into the sump oil causing fluctuations in level and pressure with signs of white exhaust smoke.

I think the person who did your remap uploaded a map where the owner would have had the dpf bypassed and the regeneration mode removed make sure the cars upto full temp maybe over 1/4 a tank of juice and give it some stick take the revs right round may smoke if you drive slow all the time for the first go and listen out of a change of tone from the exhaust and strong heat smell to see if it will regenerat

Genuine question...why would the OP be getting oil dilution if it was not trying to regenerate the DPF? Surely this is proof that it is going into regen mode (although not necessarily completing it)?

New DPF won't be full after 3 weeks, car flashes up that message because a symptom is leading to that diagnosis.

I bet the oil level is too high, check it from cold. Do you use a decent oil - I suggest Mobil1 0w40 or 5w40

How much was a new DPF (Dm me if you prefer)

  • Only 3 to 4k a year, company who did the remap is well known.
  • I do a regular run in the car every fortnight over 80 miles up and down the m1 at 70mph. Just a quick note the particulate filter full wsrning went off the next day and has'nt appeared since.??
  • Oil level seems fine at the moment. I have a friend who owns a car motorshop so i got a good discount for the new dpf £240 + vat
