Solar panels
Hi there!
Wondering if anyone can help please?
We had solar panels installed for free by British Gas a few years ago. They subsequently sold the contract to another company.
The panels are apparently owned by a company called NERSL, a subsidiary of Anesco. They have contracted out the maintenance of the panels and wiring to another internal Anesco company.
So if I want to move the cables going from my panels to the meter, Anesco are telling me I can only use them and not a qualified engineer who could provide a full certificate of the works completed.
Does this sound right? Feels like when car companies only upheld warranties if main dealers were used?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks

I would guess that if NERSL/ Anesco now own the panels they also own the inverter, cables and meter so are entitled to dictate who can move them and even whether they can be moved.
What does it say in your agreement/contract?Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
It's one of the hazards of getting something "free".
If you don't own them nor the cabling and other stuff it's their responsibility.
You need to check your documentation and agreements. You'll probably find that BG can assign their interest to another party but you need to check what you signed to clarify your responsibilities and obligations.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
