Moving to East Anglia

Hi everyone,
This is my first post on here and a bit of a begging post but here goes.
We’re currently looking to relocate from Croydon Surrey to East Anglia and really need some help with areas. I’ve done a fair few viewings but I’m really struggling with estate agents/areas. I’ve worked the area for years but never really looked at residential areas.
I work from home with an office in corby (so I’m fairly flexible) partner works in recycling but would need a new job - peterborough seems to be a hive for this.
What I want is
Min 2 double bedroomed house with garden (essential as I have dogs) and a decent area (not to offend anyone but I don’t want to be close to traveller sites or too close to large council estates)- nothing wrong with them just a personal preference.
Budget -£190k max
I drive so transport isn’t an issue for me but do need at least a bus route info cuvilisation for my partner- albeit even for a short term fix.
Ideally near Green space but not the crux of it all.
Looked at Thorney which we love (not much up for sale atm) and werrington.
Looked at parts of Spalding, the Ortons in Peterborough and Yaxley, not keen on those. Also looked at parts of Boston but transport seemed bit of an issue. P
Greatful for any suggestions for places to look l/avoid!
Thank you xx

Peterborough is not my cup of tea. Too busy but plenty on the job scene.
Boston again, the same. Like Spalding, nice town, Thorney bit out in the sticks for me.
Stamford is nice. An old town. Lots of nice shops and your £190k is obtainable.
Hope this helps.0 -
East Anglia is really Norfolk/Suffolk/North Essex/East Cambs.
Oundle and Stamford are very nice and the Deepings have some nice properties. Loads of villages between Stamford, Peterborough and Corby which are worth looking at.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Sawtry, Stilton, Ramsey, Upwood are places that I looked at when moving back to the area.
I have ended up between St Ives and Huntingdon.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Thank you guys.
Would defo prefer a village but a bus/train route for the partner is essential.
I like peterborough town centre not too fussed about having it on my door step as long as there is a commute for the partner too there.
Will have a look at those suggested areas. Thanks guys.0 -
Stamford has train and bus service to Peterborough, pretty sure Deepings has bus service as will Bourne and Oundle. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Love Bourne, it’s now finding a property that doesn’t have maintainence charges attached to it!0

Bourne has a bus route to Peterborough which has a train station, Bourne does not.
Here's a few - all are on the Bourne-Peterborough bus route

EDIT - The Haconby one might not be on the route, could be a little walk to the bus stop.
