Hi people, I mentioned this briefly yesterday in a post.
Today I cleared £5000 worth of my HP agreement as a settlement offer, so I now OWN the car, my question is, will this adversely affect my credit file/history? or positively impact it?
I will be looking in around 3 or 4 months to be selling my current vehicle and getting a new vehicle on a PCP term, I can afford this, and im not going for anything drastic so it is well within my means financially, Im just curious as to whether me clearing my recent HP finance with a settlement quote is going to adversely affect my future lending.

It will show as a correctly managed and settled account, good for your credit worthiness.0

What exactly do you mean by settlement 'offer'. Are you saying that you made an offer to repay a reduced amount which was accepted?
If this was a correctly maintained account which was settled (early?) by you asking for a settlement figure and then paying the full amount due, then that's fine. But if you made some sort of offer then probably not so good. You will need to give more info.0
