Time ok or stupid?

£5k has just become available to be added from a relative, into my grandkids Scottish Mortgage trust (which was a fair bit down from 6mths ago in last statement). Am I right in thinking it might just as well be posted immediately as wait for a while to see what happens after tomorrow - since nobody has a crystal ball, and any effect may not be immediate anyway?

Not really sure what you're asking, but yes you're right - no-one has a crystal ball and markets could go up or down. So technically there is never a good or bad time to invest, other than the old saying 'focus on time in the market, not timing the market'.

Is all the money you are saving for your grandchildren in SMT? SMT (and Baillie Gifford generally) have done well in the last couple of years as tech-heavy growth companies have been in favour. Planning for that to continue would be a high risk strategy.
