I'm unfamiliar with these and looking to buy one for my son. Could anyone please recommend a good deal around the £200 mark? I would like at least 32GB of storage please. Thanks in advance.

If you are unfamiliar with Chromebooks, are you aware of the advantages and disadvantages of these over an ordinary Windows laptop?
If not, it would be unwise to purchase any Chromebook...0 -
After yrs of using Windows six months ago, sold my acer and bought a Chromebook, yes it takes getting used to (nearly 80), but I would exchange it now. If you've ever used ios and windows, you will recognise they work differently, as does a chromebook. There are umpteen forums for chromebook users. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Mine is this one:-
3. Acer Chromebook 14 (£279 Argos)
which I paid about £170 on Black Friday. I would suggest you open a folder and keet details of those you fancy. Then keep googling to see if there are any offers of the model you'd like. Don't forget https://www.hotukdeals.com , they are excellent for finding things.
PS entered acer chromebook 14 and these came up

About 5 years ago Windows didn't run very well on very low end hardware, which is where the Chromebook had its niche.
Nowadays Windows 10 works just as well as ChromeOS on basic hardware, so there' s no longer much point in buying one.

Funny you should say that, I had W10 on my new laptop and did not find it easy at all. Whenever I asked about problems, I was told "that's w10 for you" or words to that effect. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Take a look at the Laptops Direct site where you may find some refurbished Chromebooks in your price range.
I've put in a link to the Chromebook that I have and highly recommend it.

If at all possible go for one with 4gb ram and 32Gb storage.
Finally if you go for one with a smaller screen then strongly recommend that you get one with a touch screen as this will make life a whole lot better. I use mine with a wireless mouse when set up like a laptop but when the screen is flipped over then it becomes a touchscreen tablet
I suggest that you go into PC World and try a few out to make sure that a Chromebook is the way you want to go.0 -
The Acer 14 CB3-431 is a thing of beauty with its chrome casing. A fantastic laptop
You'll need an extra tenner though https://amzn.to/2CpzGJV0 -

This is my model too and I agree, it is great. The price at £209 is equally good too. I had googled and not found that price. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
