Have you ever put in a chargeback request or disputed a charge?

This is a concern as she does not have a large credit history and this is a long standing account that was in good order.

Can you explain what you mean when you say your girlfriend doesn't have a 'large credit history' but has had a 'long-standing' credit card account that was in good order - and has supposedly had a zero balance on it for the past three months?

If the balance of the account has been 0 for 3 months, then it is difficult to understand how anything could currently be wrong with the account.
You say this was a long standing account. It is therefore highly unlikely that Sainsburys could have suddenly detected something like application fraud at such a late stage.
Early dormancy after 3 months of non-use sounds highly improbable.
Was the account always maintained in good order? presumably yes.
Was there anything unusual in the manner in which the balance was repaid?
It is also very strange and inexplicable that the account should have disappeared from her Experian credit report. Failed to update due to the review, maybe but disappeared. Not likely,

Also just to answer your query any fraud CIFAS will not show up on your credit files. The only way to check on these is to do the SAR.

It can take up to 6 weeks to get the report back.

It is hard but you will just have to wait to see what Sainsbury’s say once they conclude their investigation. There is nothing any one can do until they do so.

Hope everything works out, keep us updated especially when you hear back from Sainsbury’s.

Have you checked if there is a closed accounts section. I cant remember which credit score company but some do show your previous - now closed - accounts. It could be there. Naturally it is still a mistery why Sainsbury decided to freeze/close your account.

All CRA''s show closed accounts for 6 years from the date of closure
