He owes me a lot of money, for long over due debts, he has gone back on payment agreements. Pursuing this is a justifiable court case to me, as it would be to most in my position

Final edit: The reason I deleted my posts is I thought there was a high possibility that Carl is my former housemate, and this unnerved me, I don't think many people in such a dispute would like the other person privy to their discussions and plans. It is entirely plausible, my topic (and username) is quite google friendly and he will be researching the same things as me. Carl has only signed up to take part in this thread, and the use of textspeak 'u' and '2' etc is a common way of disguising writing style, he has since talked about taking screenshots which also supports this. Carl if you are genuinely a member of the public who has signed up as you have a personal interest in this topic then I apologise unreservedly.
Given that CarlMBrighton joined yesterday, has made 12 posts (so far), all are in this thread, and he's allegedly screenshot some of your posts, I'd be similarly curious if I was in your shoes.

Whilst this is an emotive subject for you, your proposed course of action and the way you're approaching it is perfectly fine. Bermonia is merely stirring IMHO.
  • Thank you, I was hoping someone else would give their perspective
  • ha no need to apologize, I am not ur mate, thankfully - don't mean to be harsh but sounds like he's not in a good position

you’re entitled to your opinions Doam... as am I.
  • For the benefit of anyone arriving via google with a similar question, I have since confirmed I think you cannot charge interest on parts of the debt that have been repaid prior to proceedings:

    goughsq.co.uk/publication/calculating-claims-of-interest

"Interest may be awarded “on all or any part of the debt or damages in respect of which judgment is given, or payment is made before judgment”, but no statutory interest is recoverable where a debt is paid late, but before issue of proceedings."
