Scammed by roofers

Choices please.
Lost thousands by paying up front for roofing work not completed.
Quotes given as original job was on going.
Frightened my wife into paying money for materials.
Not turned up for over a week.
Builders office telephone turns out to be a private householder. Text to Forman asking for refund ignored.
Reported to police but they at civil matter as part of the work as done.
Reported to CAB and Action Fraud.
Cannot take action as no address and police will not trace owner of mobile phone.
I have photographs of the roofers.
What to do?0
Roofers left scaffolding and some cement.
Can I sell scaffolding ?
I know I was silly but any help would be welcome.

Don't panic just yet, it's only been a week. Granted it's not acceptable to disappear for a week and cease communication but it has only been one week.

Do not sell the scaffolding.. It is not yours, and is probably not the roofer's, either. You can't just appropriate something in these circumstances. Is there anything on the scaffolding that hints at ownership? It's possible that the roofer has hired it from somewhere so if you can work out where, you can contact them to see if they will give you further contact details.

So are you saying the office number is fake?
It's not unusual to run a roofing business from home.
Where did you see them advertised

I rang number. Abrasive man said throw number away this is a private household.Ring again and I'll call the police'. Funny thing his answer phone said no calls returned.
The mobile number is live, i.e. the roofing Forman. Will not answer texts.
No way of tracing address.
Company called: first choice roofing and building.
Gave me postcard type business card.
Have photos of roofers and already reported to CAB, police and Action Fraud.

I think you are expecting too much, it's only a week since last contact. You have probably pizzed them off so much that they will not be in any hurry to complete the job.

There are many people who are trusting like me.
It's advice With this I want.
I have security cameras. They disconnected one but they work separately.
