MBNA changes?

I'm sure I have already read about this but damned if I can find which thread its on grrr.

Have MBNA recently stopped accepting B/T,s from other peoples cards?

When I say other peoples cards I mainly mean my wife's. I never put myself in a position where I NEED a B/T but I don't like the idea I may have lost that option.

If I'm correct has anyone done one since they very recently changed to Lloyds interface?

I have checked on my latest offers and they confirm i can balance transfer from other companies credit cards. Also this includes Lloyds. Also money transfers available. Me thinks you are confused.

I think OP means cards in other peoples names - i.e. not the name of the card holder

Thanks Gary, that's EXACTLY what I mean, not confused at all:cool:
  • Nobody knows the answer then I guess!
  • Maybe not here - maybe MBNA would? :)

I have attempted a BT from a card of mine (Barclaycard) to my partners MBNA and it failed. It even flagged as fraud and we had to contact MBNA. We just assumed it wasnt allowed but we did not confirm it with them. We ended up transfering from another of my partners card.

Just to add that MBNA now does some sort of credit check when processing BTs. There was a pending transaction from a credit scoring company on my Barclaycard.

    Interesting!

Was this attempted BT recent and was it done online on their new website (Lloyds interface) the only reason I asked in the first place is I have done many transfers to my MBNA account from partners card (she wont stop spending :D ) but its looking more and more like they have stopped this now.

Yes. It was done on the new interface (Lloyds). Funilly there was no BT offers on the old system but they started showing up when they changed to the new website.
