Hi everyone..
I've just been informed that my hotmail account appears to have been hijacked as my whole address book has received a spam email from me..
How did this happen and what can I do to rectify it?
I do have a firewall and security in place but someone's obviously squeezed through this..
Any help appreciated as I really don't get the techie side of computers..

so it looks like you have sent all your contacts (friends) an email? It is your mail book addresses that this has been sent to, and not addresses not in your mail book?
Firstly change your hotmail p/w and add the last 4 digit of your phone onto the p/w to ie fred6287.
second turn on "keep sent emails" - I don't have hotmail, but something like this should be there.
run a virus checker with built in trojan scanner like the free web one at www.trend.com
Keep an eye on the sent items box
Look through the other post regarding spyware, trojans and viruses.
If it is addresses which are not in your address book, then it is probably someone who is just sending mails as you to random people.GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.
