Toilet or loft tank - different float valve?

Hi. I was recently advised by a plumber that the ballcock/float valve in my loft tank was only meant for a toilet. So what's the difference between a ballcock for a toilet and a loft tank? I can't see the difference as they do the same job. Would be grateful if anyone can shed any light on this? Thanks.

If your toilet is fed from the loft tank it requires a low pressure valve, your loft tank is fed from the mains and requires high pressure. Plastic valves have an interchangeable nozzle, brass valves are usually one thing or the other.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

This is a part 1 ballvalve which you could use in a wc
This is a part 2 ballvalve for a roof tank
You can change the seating in either to a low or high pressure, the reason is to do with the air gap to prevent cross contaminationI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
