Unfortunately I don’t have access to UP08 setting on my app. My book says up08 set the maximum working period for the balancing heating element set it to 0 to cancel the balancing heating element on peak electric periods. Default is 16 hrs. As far as I’m aware mine is set for 16 hours.

I’m in the north west. The only things I can co trip from my app are the adaptive start control (don’t know what that means ) all the temperatures and the scheduling

Thanks again. Sorry for any typos it’s cold!

Adaptive start control is to do with the secondary / balancing heaters, but if you don't have a 24hr supply to the heaters it has no affect. Its default setting is Off.
  • Your SP online account will tell you accurate info.

Thanks I’ve just checked my fuse board there is no fuse for the heaters and all other switches are on. And the one with just the heaters on is on. The heaters literally have no power to them during the day u less Scottish power give us electricity.. I think you’re right I need a spark out ASAP to sort this issue. Not sure how to sort it don’t want any re wiring just had the whole place decorated!
  • You are being gently questioned on your situation. You continue to ask new questions but give no answers to the group. We don't live in your home, don't see what you see.

The deductive approach testing against our known wealth of observations on E7 domestic heating only works if you answer our non-intrusive non-personal questions 'alice's mum'.

    Best of luck.

  • Erm. As far as I can make out I’ve answered every question. I repeatedly say I’m not on an e7 rate but still you all mention it. Don’t worry I won’t ask again..

Thanks to Peter for his helpful responses.
  • I did not mean to offend.

If you don't wish to communicate with me I will withdraw from this thread immediately. You should continue to seek information and help from the group, there are many many knowledgeable and helpful people here.

    Kind Regards, Richie.

  • The UP08 parameter [adjustment ON/OFF of the UP08 parameter is indicated by the vertical wavy lines UP08 parameter. Do you have the 'Heating On Indicator' of vertical lines in your APP display ?

Being a 'werrit' over SP times is as already stated, pointless, assuming you are on an E7 tariff you get 7 hours cheap rate ONLY between the hours depending on supply area.

For example myself on SP E7 North East area 15 is either 00:00 - 07:00 or 00:30 - 07:30 It would make no difference to me if my 'timer' was set to 7 or/10 or /20 hours I would still get ONLY 7 hours. You I assume are area 21 South Wales or 22 South West.

Your bigger cost problem is the shonky water heating at full day rate, do you have two thick cables each going to a [usually] top and bottom heating element ?

    Headspace :

E7 type domestic heating is CAC÷12=DD.

Calculated annual consumption ÷ by 12 month direct debit means you will never be underpaid or overpaid providing YOU supply your own accurate meter reads to SP every 6 weeks. Best of luck.

Thanks Peter having checked In daylight I don’t appear to have two cables I’m desperately trying to find an electrician to come out and look at it all. I wasn’t happy with the guy who fitted it and don’t really want him back.
