Sorry - meant to say 'very confused' not 'confuse'!
I have never claimed any sort of benefit before so please be gentle!
I am very confused.
I put in the exact same information into both gov.uk tax credits calculator and into entitledto websites sites and the results show a difference of £300 difference each month. Very confused as to which would be right?
Has anyone else put the exact same information into these two websites and found vast differences in the results? What would be the reason? Which is right?

If you don't want to give that information then i'd advise you to visit your local CAB for a full benefits check.0 -
Probably not best to put in personal info.
Really just interested if people had put the same information into both sites and found different calculations.0 -
All areas are now a full universal credit are so it will have to be this you would claim, if possible.
As you're coming from abroad it may not be possible to claim anything to start with because of the habitual residence test. See link.

Others will give further advice when they see this i'm sure.0 -
Hi Poppy. Yes I'm aware there will most likely be a habitual test.
I was just wondering if anyone had put their figures into both sites and found vastly different figures?0 -
Is there a chance that you are confusing the Government calculation of Tax Credits with the EntitledTo calculation of all the benefits you are entitled to? EntitledTo displays a headline figure first and then breaks this down by source. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

It's possible that's it's calculating tax credits but as advised, it's no longer possible to claim that. With UC some will be worse off, others better off.0

Perhaps that is what I am doing.
I thought the gov.uk tax credits calculator and the entitledto calculator were one and the same however I now think that entitledto has a more thorough calculator.
Thank you.0 -
The best bet is to use the entitled to calculator with all information and see everything you are entitled to.
No need to compare what the tax credits calculator says as you can’t claim this anyway.0 -

Thanks @MarkN88
What do you mean 'you can't claim this anyway?'
Very new to all of this so still feeling a bit confused.0 -
