    Morning

Gers Poor mum :( its such a good job you were there. Hope todays op goes well if its any comfort she has nearly all the Daily thread peeps sending her positive vibes :)

Had a really lovely sleep last night it was more like a coma I was so tired. Plans for this weekend ....zero zilch nada :D Having said that washing on and I will no doubt do some Saturday tidy. I have a friend from America visiting in May for a week  so could do with starting to plan so may do some of that whilst watching hubby and catching up on last weeks hubbies tour of Great Britain :)

Mission freezer empty is going well in fact one shelf has proper space on it now :D Another 2 shelves to go and then it's the garage freezer this is going to be a long job ....very long. Loving finding forgotten treasures in there todays treat is a spicy bean burger I made probably a year ago ...they were lovely so looking forward to that with a few chips and salad later. Also "found" a Greggs sausage roll so feel I ought to have that for lunch :o

Hoping to speak to my age UK lady this morning as last week she wasnt well enough for the call

Right time to start the important job of doing nothing :D
Enjoy your weekends and no more illnesses, falls or emergencies please :)

Good Morning chums and best wishes for your Mum Gers, not the best thing to be happening on her birthday but fingers crossed all will be well.

Sun is shining ,albeit a bit watery looking but at least its around. Today I will be polishing off a bit of ironing ,then a bit of baking, then an even larger bit of relaxing:)

I have some paperwork I want to tidy as well, mainly dumping it in a large bag for my eldest DD to shred for me at work(she has a large shredder which is almost industrial sized :))

This afternoon will be knitting ,feet up and tv catch-up. Not very exciting but I enjoy having a bit of me time :)

No food shopping to buy as I am still feeding from my freezer,I shall have a rummage to find something for dinner tonight shortly. Lunch will be soup, crackers ,pate and probably fresh fruit.

Hope everyone has a good day what ever they are doing

    Take care chums

I slept well last night but dreamt a lot and I was trying to pack my worldly goods into bags again
The sun is shining at present, but the patio is soaking and the forecast is for more rain :(
Today my tasks are to strip the bed and put the bedding in the WM, but it will have to dry inside, as I'm not up to playing the hokey cokey today. Next I have to fill the DW and get that going, then remake the bed later and I'm done for today. If only I could find my mojo to make a start :rotfl:
Gers I am sending you and DM best wishes for today.
Right another coffee and I shall endeavour to do something ! :D

Hope everyone has a good Saturday
    nan xx

Sending positive vibes and thoughts for your mum and it is a birthday to remember.

I got up at seven as fitters were coming for conservatory roof insulation and moved some things out of the way ready. No sign by ten thirty so I e mailed the company to check I had not missed a phone message to reschedule. Just had a phone call to say one of the fitters had had a sudden bereavement so they will come on Monday afternoon instead which ironically was the original date they had made.

I finally got round to having tea and toast and plan to treat myself to fish and chips for lunch and have lots of hot tea as central heating has become temperamental recently. After a few busy days I plan to just put my feet up as DDs are all busy with friend's christenings etc this weekend so I don't need to be planning meals etc for family.

Youngest dd phoned last night to say she had been told she would get a significant pay increase in April but not told how much so she is very chuffed and wanted to let me know. I told her older sisters (with her permission) and they are delighted for her.

Your post reminded me I want to defrost one of my two small freezers and empty them even more as I have a Musclefood delivery next week. It is funny when the delivery driver comes to the door with the labelled package expecting a body builder and then finds a female in her sixties who is certainly not a fitness fanatic.

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon.

DM is in surgery having a partial hip replacement- just the head / ball of femur as everything else is OK. I'm distracting myself by browsing.

DH has just fixed our ailing downstairs loo after managing to source a part ( unusual type). We had resorted to using a milk bottle to flush it if the children had used it in quick succession as it wouldnt fill quick enough.Sometimes it's the small things that make you happy :D

Afternoon all..I seem to be aquiring all sorts from Freecycle these days, going to have make a start on organising and refurbing the stuff that's already here, I've got an old fashioned two seater sofa to recover, fabric of choice will either be red and white christmas type theme or dark blue with medieval horses, both from ikea years ago. I know I have enough of the former but not sure about the latter. Fabric stash investigation required.
Almost finished watchinf all episodes of escape to the chateau. Really enjoyable, but also annoying myself with thoughts that that would have been possible for me a year ago, but will not be possible now. Along with any kind of heavy or repeated DIY gubbins. I suppose I need time to mourn what I could have done and just try to find new ways of doing things.
I may even start painting again, will have to look out my paints and brushes, good job i never got rid of them. When I did paint, I only wanted to paint people [figurative painting for any who care...] and I have had an idea for one I want to do. We'll see what rolling the idea around in my head does.
The trouble with having as many strings to your bow as I have means you're always a Jack and never a master. Time to decide on a master too.

I hope your mother feels a new hip is a good birthday present Gers, here's hoping it all goes well and she's not in too much pain, or on so many painkillers she can't feel a thing! Enjoy your day all if you can.
    Scrumptious Saturday all!

Afternoon all. I took DD to knit and natter this morning as I have been teaching her to knit. One experiencec knitter suggested she try circular needles and she got on better with those. Grampy looked after Dgs who wolfed down the Nana's Magic soup I made yesterday when he needed an early lunch.

DH is dozing on rhe sofa as wrangling a four yesr old is hard work lol.

Gets I hope Mum"s operation goes well.

Have a praceful afternoon all and keep warm It's perishing here.

  • I just popped back on to see if we had news of GERS' DM. Hope all is ok.

I have just spent a riveting afternoon doing a mountain of shredding. It must be one of the most boring household jobs! Every so often it needs a rest to cool down which spins the boredom out even longer!

I left some fish out defrosting for my tea so time to put that in the oven now methinks.

It's very quiet on here today xx
