I have never paid a carpet fitter. The fitting was always included in the price I paid at the shop.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Same here. Even if the store had 2 prices, supply only or supply and fit I still had to pay the fitter. If the doors are going to catch the new carpet the fitters remove them. That's what happens.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -

I have used several companies over the past couple of years (I've just had my stairs refitted) - in every case the charge for fitting has been shown as a separate charge on the invoice- but I was told this was there and was to be paid in cash on the day.
OP needs to check their invoice and receipt from the shop to see what is shown.
Leaving a door off as it no longer fits is also normal- I'm not sure what else a fitter is expected to do?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
