Apparently it was a common occurrence on these cars which strangely seemed to happen when the cars were sitting.
Had the same happen with my 2007 Fiesta. Came out of house and noticed offside front of car sitting lower than normal, front offside coil spring had broken. A few days and less than 50 miles later started driving car and it was making a funny noise, so immediately returned home and yes, the front nearside coil spring had broken. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
You don't even need to hit a pot hole for a spring to go....flew back from 10 day holiday, reversed one foot out of airport car park space, and PING; a spring snapped. Cue horrendous burning rubber smell when trying to leave the car park.0
