How to fix this loose door handle???

The lever on my bathroom door handle has come loose from the rest of the unit, like something inside is broken. Any ideas if this is fixable or if I can fit a new handle with no DIY skills? Nothing on youtube is relevant to contemporary designs-where the actual handle part isn't one piece. Thanks

Is there a screw to tighten? Look under the handle. If not that, it's something else . .

Changing a door handle is usually relatively simple. There's a handle on each side, a spring loaded catch in the middle that's slotted into the door, and a square rod that runs through the door, joining them together.

This means that you can swap the door handles independently of the catch mechanism. And you can replace a broken catch, keeping the old handles.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Agree with society's child.

The screws on our internal door lever handles are tiny grub screws that easily get lost, so you may need to buy replacements, plus small Allen keys to tighten them.

Usually there is a circlip on the inside (undo the 4 screws on the handle plate to get it off). Unlikely, but possible this is broken. And there is a spring that returns the handle to its upright position, these do break.

In both cases a new handle is usually needed, as spares that will fit are hard to locate.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
