Hello all,
I have the above device and it isn't switching on. I have charged it up. It is 14 months old.
Can anyone advise if I am going along the right lines. I have googled and found this
If I manage to download the correct file and convert it to a USB stick which I shall have to buy
Assuming then you put the stick into the slot and it fires up the device.
Does all of this sound right or is it dead and ready for the bin. Seems a little harsh after 14 months.
I do hope that all of the above makes sense.

If it's not powering on then it's likely to be either a power circuit not charging, or the battery has croaked (did you try a different charger?)
I don't understand what file you have and what you're doing with it to try and correct a power fault? If it has no power then it won't read any USB devices.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0 -
Hi, I'm glad I asked, as I'm clearly going the wrong way about it.
I don't have another charger only the one that came with the device. If it help the light on the device comes on as if it is charging.
Is it likely that the battery could have croaked after 14 months. I'm guessing that it isn't repairable if that is the case.0 -
Presumably it was the recovery media you were downloading?
That is an ISO image of Windows that will contain the drivers for the device. You can use it either for reinstalling Windows, or to repair your current installation.
If you can get it to boot from that you could try the repair and troubleshooting utilities on that. They might help.
Certainly worth spending £5 on a USB pendrive before you throw the tablet out.0 -
Have a look at http://linxtablet.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2281
It sounds like it does the same as hp elite books in that the battery discharges too far and the charging circuit has a problem recovering it and needs a bit of help.0 -

Okay, I see what you mean, thank you for that. It does seem harsh to throw it out after only 14 months.0 -
I had a similar problem with a Linx, had to open it, disconnect the internal battery and reconnect it, that fixed it.
If you decide to do it, just be careful not to damage the screen or the plastics, if I remember there were no screws.0 -
Are you holding down the power button for too long?
I had a similar issue with a Linux 10.0 -

I had the same issue after it fully discharged from sitting in a draw for months.
Popped the back of, unplugged the battery, reconnected and it started working again.0
