  • The free editions of AVG Anti-virus and Anti-spyware will remove infections.

SuperAntyspyware removes a lot of stuff. So do ad-aware and spybot. I run all three of them regularly and my computer is quite free of cobwebs and stuff.

Google the above names and download the free edition. This is what I did and never looked back.

    Good luck ell. ;):)

I run AntiSpyware first, then ad-aware and then spybot.

The first time I run AntiSpyware, only a few weeks ago it found 117 baddies and removed them. Spybot and ad-aware found a few more just afterwards.

As Al Mac says, things like tracking cookies etc are just a fact of life and should not actually harm the computer, but best get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Also, make sure that all these security programs are updated regularly - some of them update automatically, some you need to do manually but it's no big deal.
