A while ago people were buying single shares in football clubs as presents to give to a fan so they had a token stake in their club and a nice certificate to hang on the wall.

In your case did a kindly relative think you had an obsession with tarmac by any chance?

The remaining company has been bought and sold a few times and is now part of CRH Plc an Irish company
