Hi all,

Saw the below in the M&S bank switching terms and conditions: not able to call them today or tomorrow but it seems from the below that you do not qualify for the switching offer of £100 voucher now/£120 after a year for existing M&S credit card holders if you've ever received a switch bonus from another bank? Does this sound correct to anyone else?

"You must not have previously held a Qualifying Account and used the Current Account Switch Service, or submitted a ‘Switching your standing orders and Direct Debits’ form to us or used any other switching method to switch your banking and received any switching incentive whether the accounts are currently opened or closed"

Not sure whether that's poor punctuation or poor wording!

    Clearer punctuation:

You must not have previously held a Qualifying Account and:
used the Current Account Switch Service,
or submitted a ‘Switching your standing orders and Direct Debits’ form to us
or used any other switching method to switch your banking and received any switching incentive
whether the accounts are currently opened or closed.

    Clearer wording:

You must not have previously held a Qualifying Account and used the Current Account Switch Service, or submitted a ‘Switching your standing orders and Direct Debits’ form to us or used any other switching method to switch your banking to us and received any switching incentive from us whether the accounts are currently opened or closed.

Either way, I can't believe they're seeking to exclude customers who've received incentives from other banks, which is nothing to do with M&S and something they'd have no access to any information about....

The wording might be a bit strange but the take home message is that you are not eligible for a switch incentive if you have ever received a switching bonus from M&S Bank before - either from switching through using CASS or the older style switching service.
