Hi my lovelies can you help my confusion. I am moving to eon big switch feb19. Eon has said my move will be on 12th march but asks for meter reading between. 6th-20th what date do they actually need them to make a final bill for my old supplier and starter for them. Help Malc or anyone .
Thanks
Thanks

They are not bothered about which date the reading is from, so long as they get a valid / true reading. The start reading becomes the end reading of your previous supplier, and the financial difference due to a few days consumption is insignificant.0

Hello Silverbird65 and welcome to the Forums.
Please let us have your opening meter readings within the timeframe we've given. We operate a meter reading window and readings received during this time are valid.
There are several ways to send them including online through the Live Chat service on our website; by phone; or the secure messaging services on our Social Media channels - Facebook and twitter.
We'll use them as the opening readings on your first bill/statement and send them to your old supplier so they can close their account.
Hope this helps Silverbird65 and many thanks for joining us.

Tomorrow will be fine Silverbird65. That's well within the date range we've given you.
Have a good weekend.

I am also switching to EON, with an expected switch date of 13th March (tomorrow).
When I first started the switch, I had a couple of emails from EDF, but none since.
( I only learnt the expected switchover date via my existing supplier.)
I have been expecting to get an email telling me it was time to provide an opening/closing meter read, but nothing has come.
For that reason, I logged on to my new online account with EDF today, and saw that I was now within the 'window' for providing that reading.
I also found a downloadable copy of the T&Cs and my contract.
I also saw that I should have received my 'Welcome Pack' by now. This is the sort of thing that is usually comes by email, isn't it? I certainly haven't received one.
Has anyone else moving to EDF had one?0 -

Hello C.C. and thanks for joining us.
You certainly should've had your Welcome pack by now. For customers signing up online, they go out by email within 24 hours of accepting our quote.
It's similar with the opening meter readings. With an online account, we'll contact you by email within our meter reading window to ask for readings. We'll use them to start our account and send them to your old supplier so they can use the same readings to close their account.
I'd check your online account has been set up with the right details and with the right permissions from you to send emails about certain things like meter readings. You can check and update this information by logging in to your online account and going to the 'update your details' section in 'My Account.'
Also, please check if our emails are going into your junk or spam folder. If they are, please add our email address as a trusted contact.
Have a look, too, at the 'track my switch' tool on the website. This lets you see where you are on the journey and what will be happening next.
Hope this points you in the right direction C.C. and thanks again for joining us.
