Reading the blurb, 6 people, each with their own Amazon account, can be in the Family plan. They don't have to live with you.
Prime is not needed either UNLESS you want to save £30 and pay £149 for 12months (saves 2 months = £30); the member who pays must have a Prime account in this case.
