Poorly dog

I'm not looking for medical advice, I can get that from the vet

Perry my 12 year old JRT X

bum scooting Sunday and very very bad wind for a few days, with yellow poop yesterday.

So Tuesday night i tried to squeeze his glands, a little gunk came out but I didn't feel confident and Perry was not happy.

Wednesday took him to the vets to get it done properly, the nurse did the job and recommended chicken and rice for a few days to give him a bit extra fibre.

Still yellow poop today, struggling to go for 4 days now, then this afternoon Perry started being sick it was all yellow, so took him straight to the vet.

Glands were rechecked, prostrate checked, stomach checked all ok.

Anti sickness jab given and tablets for his stomach due to the bile (yellow sick)

If Perry doesn't improve by Monday he will go back for bloods.

Vet today said because of his age it could be gall bladder or tumour or liver trouble.

How easy are these to manage, how will Perry manage with this as he is older?

I wouldn't want him to start having operations at his age if he is going to suffer and be in pain long term.

You don't have enough information at the moment to go on. The relevant phrase is "could be." Which also means it may not be. Just take it one step at a time.
And if it is something more, tumours (for example) can be small and operable or more advanced when you might be looking at maintaining quality of life rather than a cure.
Try not to get too far ahead of yourself just yet.

Perry has got worse and we spent most of yesterday afternoon at the vets, at least they took the bloods and tested yesterday rather than wait until Monday.

Well we know it's his liver, either infection, or poisoned, cancer or leptospirosis, really will not know until then.

He was so ill yesterday poor thing.

I'm so sorry that your little lad is poorly :( I hope it is something easily fixed.

Perry spent the day in the vets yesterday for a Bile acid stimulation test and a ultrasound on his belly.

He has an enlarged liver and gall bladder.

Strict hepatic diet for a fortnight to see if that calms things down.
then a further day at the vets like yesterday.

If all is calm then a new diet for the rest of his life and tablets.

    Otherwise a biopsy for tumours.

Poor love. Hoping for the best outcome for him.
My dog is very fat intolerant and has yellow poo attacks if she is given too much unsuitable food- or steals it.
