Just beginning PPI complaints! Couple of Qs

Evening all! I am new to PPI and had lots of different companies years ago I possibly had this with but my husband and I had full insurance with legal and general. I started ringing around today and Lloyds said they could nt find me on their initial system (4 loans from 2002 to 2009 and 1 credit card). All paid off and closed. I have submitted a SAR on their website but the man I spoke to on the phone still logged complaints and gave me 2 reference numbers and also asked for my current bank account details for payments to go into. Is that normal practice? I just found it odd for such information considering I have no proof of PPI hence calling to ask for details on my old accounts. I have since had a text message from them also but I guess that's standard. Thankyou in advance! :-) I have had confirmation from capital one and Argos so far :-) Kerry

They are just saving the time of ringing you back to ask for them

If they have no records, at least that the front line team can see, then you would have to provide your own copies proving you had PPI and proof of your complaint reasons. Not sure what "full insurance" is but if PPI would have paid out in addition to your policy then it might well be rejected

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

If by this you mean Life and Critical Illness Cover then unfortunately that is irrelevant in supporting a PPI complaint because that type of insurance has no overlap with PPI.

What is your definition of full insurance?
L&G is a budget provider with often quite limited options. They target the cheap/bottom end of the market. L&G retail home insurance, life assurance, critical illness cover and others. None of which overlap with PPI.
