credit limit increase, transfer or open new account ?

signed up to egg recently:
recieved £500 starting limit, spent £490
payment one
paid minimum payment,
plus extra payment, taking it to £441
payment two
transferred payment of £50 awaiting for it to show on egg account.
plus will make minimum payment at end of month
problem:
1 need limit increasing from £500 to £800 due to christmas
2 request rejected
so what can i do ? simply try and get a barclaycard flexirate ?
