I was in a car crash!

Hi, so I was a passenger in a car that was involved in a police chase and ended with a crash.
I have a broken cheekbone, nose, eye socket and missing 2 teeth and will be having surgery in the next 2 weeks.
What I am asking is what are my rights to compensation? As I couldn't do anything about the situation I was in.
If you need anymore information let me know, Thanks.

You can sue the driver. Depending on the circumstances they may hold you partly liable and reduce the award.0

Is that the only way around it? As doing that could cause problems for me.0

Who is to blame for the crash ? Who do you expect to compensate you ? Were they insured ?0

You would need to sue the negligent party (sounds pretty much like the driver in this case)
If they were insured at the time of the crash they would then pass this to their insurance company who "i believe" (hopefully someone can confirm) will then pay you out but they may then try and chase the driver for the money, depending on the circumstances of the crash.
But i get the impression from your response that the driver might not respond well to that. All your base are belong to us.0 -
Am I correct in reading the opening post as you were in the car which was being pursued by the police. If so this will be very complicated and you will need legal representation.
If the car was being used to commit a crime at the time such as fleeing a burglary you cannot claim.
If the car was stolen and you knew you cannot claim.
If you knew the driver was not legally entitled to drive your claim will be reduced.
If the driver was on drink or drugs and you knew your claim will be reduced.
Your claim will have to be against the driver. If there is insurance on the car they will then pay the claim and pursue the driver for reimbursement. If no insurance MIB may pay but would then pursue the driver for reimbursement.0 -

Why with the driver? or with the police if you managed to get away? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
