I have a DD to monthly pay off my Capital One card, today I received a text message saying they delayed taking the DD. I’m assuming that because it is their error they could not charge interest for a late payment and that is why they texted me? Did other people have the same problem?

I received one as well:
There was a delay in Capital One claiming the direct debit for your Capital One card ending XXXX. We applied your payment to your Capital One account on the correct day, but this only left your bank account today. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.
They credited the account with the payment on Monday 4th which was the payment due date but didn’t actually take the DD until today.
I wonder if I can claim compensation for the time I wasted checking my banking apps seeing why the DD wasnt taken..... ��0 -
