Hi,
Having recently got married, my husband and I would like a joint bank account but don't know which would be the best. Can we use the switching service from our individual accounts to a joint account? Can anyone recommend a good bank which also has a tied in savings account?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

It rather depends on your definition of 'good' bank account - good for customer service, branches, apps, web interface, interest-paying, perks?
Try the main guide here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/ to get a feel for the options.
Lots have decent reg savers too - nationwide, santander 123, first direct, marks & spencer etc all have 5% reg savers if you hold the right current account. And some pay reasonable interest on the current account balance too.
Re switching, yes you could switch individual accounts to a joint but it would be easier to just set up a new joint account. Not least because you'd still have the individual accounts too, it's always useful to have multiple accounts. And you could make those joint too if you wanted to, no need to switch them.
Switching is only really necessary if you really don't like your current bank or are after a perk offered for the switch. And if you want the switching perks but like your current bank just open a second account with your current bank and switch that.0 -
