Natural relief needed for clogged sinuses

I am currently recovering from a severe head cold and my sinuses remain clogged up and give me a background headache and watery eyes. I have been to my GP who diagnosed a residual infection and offered to prescribe amoxcyillin, apparently the approved antibiotic for ENT infections. The problem is it plays havoc with my bowels. As does paracetamol, which is combined with most OTC decongestants, when taken for more than a couple of days.
Can anyone recommend any effective natural remedies or nasal sprays to get some relief?

Disclaimer...... I am not giving any medical advise just telling you what I use. When my head is clogged up I use Sudafed spray. Works for me.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

Nasal wash / irrigation seems to be effective, it's just salt water (saline).
Anything other than ABs are worth trying. I hope this works for you.0 -
Again not medical advice - I use sudafed decongestant. No paracetamol & bought from the pharmacy.0

I buy the Boots version of Sudafed, it's cheaper and exactly the same formula.
Just look for the PL number on the box, for example Sudafed at £4.49 or the Boots version at £2.59:

I hope you're feeling better soon.

Menthol crystals from a chemist or pharmacy. A tiny pinch in boiling water, towel over your head and breathe in the steam.0

What follows is purely anecdotal:
I used to pour hot water into a bowl, cover it with a blanket and let the steam enter my nostrils (carefully) my lifting the cover over my head.
But the best way to overcome any cold I have found, is drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of sleep. Don't bother walking around doing chores. Just let your body rest so it can concentrate on fighting the infection.0 -

This is a good old fashioned remedy that a famous London Teaching Hospital used on me when I had nasal polyps removed.
I still use it when I get a stuffed up nose0 -
If you haven't got menthol crystals a couple of drops of Olbas oil will help in hot water too. I actually dab a bit of vapour rub just inside my nostrils but not everyone is happy with the petro-chemical thing...The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

This - or even just head over a steaming bowl.
Vick vapour rub in the bowel, or a few drops of Olbus Oil can be an alternative to menthol crystals.
Old fashioned - but as good as anything. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I asked my GP once and he said head over a steaming bowl. You can add a drop of something e.g. Olbas Oil for a nicer experience.
In the nineties I used to cycle with a veteran who rode the Tour de France in the sixties. They used to snort up salt water through the nose. Never had the courage to try that myself.0
