Aqua card Query

in Credit cards
Hi all, first post so please be gentle.
A few years back I opened an account with Aqua, my credit limit was increased to £2700 and the balance had remained around that figure for a long while. Silly me.
I have been focusing on paying this card for some time now and, having taking a 2nd job, been making weekly payments towards it from this additional income on top of the minimum payment made at the start of each month. Fortunately I am now in a position to clear the remaining balance in one go. I have attempted to make this payment using their online payment service, this has failed with the message 'you have reached the maximum number of transactions allowed for the last 30 days'. I then attempted to pay over the phone using an automated service and again the payment was unsuccessful with the same message. I was on hold for almost an hour waiting to speak to an actual person but had to go out so couldn't wait any longer.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Aqua or an alternative provider at that end of the market? Is a maximum number of transactions/payments towards a card in a monthly period a standard part of the T&Cs? I have a Barclaycard with a a limit that would allow me to transfer the balance and pay it that way but that incurs a 2.9% fee and I really don't want to pay any more money than I have to. I've worked hard to clear up the mess I got myself into and just want the Aqua card gone.
