Eurocarparks

I have received a fine from ECP and immediately filled in an appeal. This was about 3 weeks ago. I have heard nothing since. How long does this process take. Also the 2 weeks have gone by when I could pay £60 instead of £100 is this on hold until the appeal is dealt with?
Thanks

Clearly you have not read the stickies/FAQs. It is not a fine, £60 is a con.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem become so widespread that MPs agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Hopefully, this will become law by Easter .

Sorry I'll go back and read. I realise something is going on but just wondered about the time frame for the process. So I just wait to hear from them and pay nothing.

Did you reveal the driver's identity when you appealed? I hope not.

Please confirm the name of the PPC. If it was Euro Car Parks Ltd or Elite Car Parking Management Ltd then you should get a PoPLA code within 35 days.

Spend time reading the NEWBIES especially post 3 which contains a number of template appeal points for you to copy and paste.

What happened when you complained to the landowner?

What was the reason for issuing the PCN?

Have you complained to your MP yet about this unregulated scam?

I just filled in the appeals form online giving the details they asked for. I have read all this on MSE after that.
I have evidence that I paid the correct payment for the car parking but as it did it on my phone it had it down as the numberplate of a previous car owned by my husband. Obviously that car was not in the carpark on that day. Genuine admin error on my part. Both cars are registered to him. and his name is on the letter about the fine.
I haven't complained to anyone yet.

I have received a email from Euro carparks rejecting my appeal. What happens now? Here is an excerpt from the email.

When purchasing a valid session via Pay by Phone Service, it is driver’s responsibility to ensure that
the payment is made for the correct vehicle registration mark on the day in question. As you have
paid for the incorrect vehicle, the PCN has been issued correctly.

Should I take this further or pay? Can I appeal again?

Did they include a POPLA code and give details on your next appeal? You've been previously directed to the Newbies thread. You need to study the section on POPLA appeals.

I have just reread this email and missed on first reading the important sentence.

The Parking Charge Notice has been cancelled on this occasion, however any further ParkingCharge Notices issued for the same reasons will not be cancelled. It is the driver’s responsibilityto ensure that the payment via Pay by Phone Service has been made for the correct vehicle registration mark.

Thank goodness you've spotted that or we could all have been off on a wild goose chase.

How did you miss it? Skim reading at its most dangerous. :)

Anyway - good result, monkey off your back.
