Error in Black Horse agreement.
I took out a hire purchase agreement in 2014 for a white Ford Fiesta. (Irrelevant but will help with the understanding.) I had a call from Vospers halfway through my finance saying I was eligible to upgrade my finance. Stupidly, I did. I took out a PCP agreement in a blue Ford Fiesta in 2017.
I am wanting to get out of my agreement, and I while looking through paperwork from my agreement I have discovered some errors.
Firstly, on my White Fiesta agreement, all of my personal details are correct. On my blue Fiesta, they have got my D.O.B wrong by 10 years. They have also titled the contract with “Hire Purchase Agreement”, rather than the PCP that it actually is. Are either of these errors (which were made by the salesman at Vospers) able to get me out of my contract, ie. have I been mis-sold a hire purchase agreement?
I am aware of voluntary termination, but I am about £2000 away from having paid half the value of the agreement.

The DOB is an honest mistake that won't help you.
As for the PCP/HPA confusion, why do you think you have a PCP if you've signed a HPA contract? Or is it clearly a PCP contract with just an erroneous title? If so, that's another mistake but it won't help you.0 -
It’s definitely a PCP with an error in the title.
I didn’t believe any of these errors would lead to anything but I believed it was worth trying!0 -
A PCP is a form of HP. So it won't help.0

Nah mate. You are spot on. Miss sold all day long.
Raise a claim and give it a go.

Very useful.0 -
The majority of PCP agreements are Hire Purchase contracts with a minority based on Conditional Sale or Fixed Sum/Term Agreements. Your PCP agreement states that it's a Hire Purchase Agreement because that is what it is - it would be an only be an error in the title if it didn't state it.0

You are supposed to read contacts before signing, not after you realise you mis-bought a car.
Apart from that you must have some brass neck.0 -
