Ferry cancellation, Cooling off periods?

Sorry guys but iv read the faqs a d struggling to find anything to suit my circumstances.

I have booked a ferry today, with steam packet to Isle of Mann.

I used my visa debit card. Paid £330.
I have tonight had a change of heart and thought I would see if I could cancel. There is a button to hit and cancel but it only offers £20 refund, I lose £310.

Am I covered by any cooling off periods, what specific acts cover this being a ferry.

Ask Chris Grayling, he's the ferry expert around here.

No cooling off period unless they offer one in their terms and conditions.

They will have terms and conditions though. From a pizza delivery service apparently which ironically, probably does have a cooling-off period....

But they don't have ferries. A bit like Chris Graylings ferry company.

When you don’t get 14 days to cancel
If you went into the business’s shop or premises to arrange the service you won’t get this cooling-off period.

You also won’t get a cooling-off period for:

accommodation (eg a hotel room or a short-term let)
transport of goods (including courier services)
vehicle rental services
catering or leisure activities for specific dates (eg hotel and restaurant bookings, theatre tickets, catering for a wedding or party)

Unfortunately your tickets are for a leisure activity on a specific date - so no right to cancel.
Take the £20, and have a good ol' think before booking next time

You don't need to make a ferry ticket into a "leisure activity" for it to be exempt - even if you view it as a mundane necessity, it's exempt by regulation 27:

27...

(2) This Part does not apply to contracts to the extent that they are...

(c)for passenger transport services.

(assuming it's a UK contract rather than a Manx one!)

I'd suggest having another change of heart and going ahead with the trip anyway.

Have you checked their cancellation charges in the terms and conditions with regards to your specific tickets?
