Is the Ipad connected though Talk Talk when you are sending mail?

Some ISP do not like you using their email server to send emails when you are not connected though them.
Plusnet for example you have to use a slightly different sending authentication if you are using plusnet email when not connected on a plusnet Broadband connection.
I know this - I use a Gigaclear FTTP connection and my old plusnet email address
