broker price described as "ridiculous"
Interested in a Mazda CX3, but they obviously hold their value very well, so instead of paying 12-13K for a decent 3 (ish) year old model, decided to get some broker quotes on a new one. ( Petrol/ Manual )
RRP for a CX3 SE-Nav+ is 19,785 ( obviously no-one sensible pays that ) that is bottom spec, but still well equipped.
So Drive the deal came back with 16,102 for a SE Nav+ - only option i specced was Soul Red Paint.
Gave that price to nearest Mazda main dealer and whn the rep called me back later she described price as "ridiculous " and they couldnt get anywhere near it, wouldnt be drawn on their price but obviously wants me and OH to pay another visit to showroom to discuss things...
I also have some prices from CarWow - they actually tell you the dealer who is supplying the quotes, and Mazda Swindon are at 16985, Mazda Carlisle are about £100 cheaper, but thats a long trek from South Devon !!!
All the quotes include a 1500 deposit contribution from Mazda, and are dependant on using their 4.1% APR PCP scheme..
Will be doing some more phoning around when i get time after work, bit wary though as have never used a car broker before.
Advice appreciated, Ta

It's the right time of year to be buying...
As I understand it, dealers have to sell certain quotas of each plate to get to different levels of discount... Approaching changes of plate (19's incoming!) if they're running short it sometimes pays then to pre-register some cars purely to hit that quota and keep their discounts, but they don't want those previous plates (in this case, 68's) sitting around for too long and sell them at discounted rates. There's not likely to be any wiggle room in the price, but you'll often see hefty discounts in the first place.
If it were me, I'd contact that dealer direct and deal with them rather than the broker, but that's just me...
(My previous car was bought in this way, way below average price at the time, and as I understand it this was why... If this is inaccurate please correct)0 -

19 plate is already here...the deals will be on pre registered late 68 plates0 -
I thought the brokers were referring to cars that i would be first name on log book, not pre-reg.0

Show your local dealer the quotes you've got from Carwow, they may match or even beat it. I got quotes from Carwow & the local dealer was nowhere near the best, I went in & had a chat & they offered to match the best price. After a couple of weeks they phoned up with an even better offer.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Drivethedeal are a good company - they refer you to the dealer and you agree the finance etc with them. The only issue is the dealer might not be local, but they do try to find one close to you.0
